Ingredients

  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed
  • 100g droëwors, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Plain flour, for dusting


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
  2. Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry sheet.
  3. Brush a thin layer of sweet chilli sauce over the entire sheet.
  4. Scatter the chopped droewors evenly over one half of the pastry.
  5. Fold the pastry sheet over itself to cover the droewors and press gently to seal.
  6. Cut into strips approximately 2cm wide.
  7. Twist each strip a few times and place them on the prepared baking tray.
  8. Beat the egg and brush each twist with the egg wash.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  10. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Delicious served warm or at room temperature!
