Ingredients
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry, thawed
- 100g droëwors, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Plain flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with baking parchment.
- Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll out the puff pastry sheet.
- Brush a thin layer of sweet chilli sauce over the entire sheet.
- Scatter the chopped droewors evenly over one half of the pastry.
- Fold the pastry sheet over itself to cover the droewors and press gently to seal.
- Cut into strips approximately 2cm wide.
- Twist each strip a few times and place them on the prepared baking tray.
- Beat the egg and brush each twist with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Delicious served warm or at room temperature!
